More Nothing July 30, 2006

Here I am to tell you that nothing’s going on around the queen’s palace and then to tell you all the stuff I’m doing.

Took the kids shopping again yesterday so they could finish spending the money I gave them for school clothes. The princess bought a pair of shoes and the prince bought a video game. Not with my money. He said he was done spending my money and gave it all back to me. I love me the little prince. The princess had 4 bucks left over and gave it back. She couldn’t find anything on the sale racks that interested her.

We had a open house dance party at the studio last night. I love getting all dressed up and going dancing. It’s great. I’m currently working on a new belly dance costume to wear. That will take up a good part of my time. It’s going to be fabulous. There’s nothing more I like than scrounging around the good will for clothes with sequins and shiny stuff and then bringing it home and cutting it up and making something new. Oh, yeah there is, the dancing in it. That is just the best. Love the dancing in it.

I’ll be going today to get my hair curled and set. Like the women used to back in the day but with a modern twist to it. The black girls at work are convinced I can’t make it last more than a day. HA, They don’t know me! Hell, if my momma could do I know I can damn well do it.

Going to do the damn laundry. Ugh. Gotta get most of it done before my hair appointment. 🙂  Later people.

Hey guys. I’m here working on day 3 of a major migraine headache with no prescription meds. Ugh. Last night was, I hope, the worst of it. I almost didn’t make it home. Nausea, blurry vision…. just doesn’t mix well with driving.

I’ve got some student shadowing me at work today. Gawd, I hate fucking shadows. They just get the hell in my way. Why can’t they go somewhere else. Oh, wait, my bleeding heart boss asks for them. What a bitch. I don’t see anyone shadowing her ass. Of course then someone might find out that she doesnt’ do any fuckin’ work.

The kids school shopping trip went fabulous on Saturday. I gave them each 200 bucks to buy clothes with and the boy bought jeans, shirts, and shoes. The girl got jeans, shirts, a dress, and shoes. I think they are pretty well broke now. School starts so damn early around here. The first Friday in August!!!  What the hell happened to starting after Labor Day. Does anyone do that anymore.

Okay, so let me go find some excedrin migraine, hit the shower, and go to work.

Ya’ll have a good day.

OMG! I want these!!!!!

Today was soooooooooooooo boring. I just wanted to pluck my damn eyeballs out. At least then there would have been some excitement. I swear if the work don’t pick up someone is gonna get laid off.  I’m suprised it hasn’t already happened.

The King is out mowing the yard and I’m here in front of my secret blog eating the best sandwich in world. A muffaletta. I love them! I don’t know what’s on them but they are just fabulous. I’ll probably be sick by the time it’s all eaten but I don’t fucking care. My tastebuds are thrilled.

I’m still having Firefox issues and having to work … well, surf… from IE.  Can’t someone help a girl out? What does it take? A picture of tits?

Is anyone else out there having problems viewing images using Firefox? This problem started yesterday and it’s driving me nuts. All my favs and bookmarks are in Firefox and now I’ve got to transfer the bastards to IE (uggh) so I can surf the net. How do I fix this shit?

It’s what I got. Nothing. Nada. Zip. Zero. But afterall I am the Queen of Nothing, Ruler of Nothing, Most High Poombah of Nothing so it’s all good.

Maybe later. Right now I’m running a little late for work cause I’ve been surfing tribe.net. What a fabulous place to waste time without leaving your chair.

Monday already? July 16, 2006

Lord but the weekends go by too fast. It was just Friday, like, 2 days ago! How can it be that tomorrow is Monday? NOOOOOOOOOOOO! Will someone please come up with a new calendar that gives us 3 days off each week instead of only 2. Please?

So, Friday I felt like total shit. I’m pretty sure my thyroid is acting up again and since I’m off the meds I can feel it all. My pounding heart, shortness of breath, constant pooping are just about to do me in. But what’s really killing me are the mood swings and paranoia. Oh yeah, fun times people, fun times. Just imagine PMS times… oh, let’s say 1000. That would just about do it. Dancing happy one minute, crying in my soda the next, then screaming angry after that. Good gravy, I wish someone would just fix me already. Oh, and the sex drive? Vanished.

So Friday, feeling like shit, I called the husband and told him that I didn’t want to come home, to meet me somewhere for dinner. Somewhere where there wouldn’t be a lot of screaming brats and I wouldn’t necessarily have to be nice to anyone. After he wasn’t at our designated dining spot and I called and snipped and snapped at him on the phone, we finally met up at Outback. It was soooooo good. The waitress was the best. I was actually able to be nice to her. They have the best new dessert. It’s vanilla ice cream, rolled in coconut, drowned in chocolate sauce and topped with whipped cream and sliced strawberries. OMG. That was the best shit ever.

The rest of the weekend was the same ol’ shit. Laundry, grocery shopping, errands… I did manage some sewing and might throw up a picture up here towards the end of the week. I’m working on a costume for our Ali Bubba and Rebel Gypsies dance troupe. Camo skirts and gingham tops, rebel flag and beer cap belts. I’m hoping I get to wear my cowboy hat, too.

Later peeps.

Hump Day July 12, 2006

Hump Day used be our… well… hump day. No matter what was going on during the week we could always count on some bedroom aerobics on Wednesday night after work.  Those days, dear people, have come and gone. No more hump day humping. I guess we’ve gotten old. DH is back in school working on a Masters degree and there’s all that studying to do. I’m sure there’s something on TV to watch that’s much more important.  Sometimes it’s him, sometimes its me. But I just can’t count on it anymore.

So what are you gonna do with your hump day?

Oh hell, it’s Monday July 10, 2006

All damn day long.  First off, Aunt Flo drops in. No preamble like she usually gives. Just a “hello chick, here I am.” Fine! But she better be gone in 4 days, you hear me.

I was slamming busy at work this afternoon. Not so much this morning. If I have to be at work, then I want to work. I don’t want time to see and file my nails, you know. I hate that. But that’s pretty much all I did this morning. It takes me all of about 20 minutes to do all the really important stuff and then I just have to drag everything else out to pass the time. Good grief, where’s all the sick, snotty-nosed kids when you want them.

Dance tonight was steaming. Really. No air conditioner. We danced in an 85-degree F studio.  Not bad if we were doing that sweat your fat off yoga shit but this is NOT what we were doing. It was fun anyway. I was the only one there for the first 2 hours so we just danced to whatever we wanted.

Now I’m home and need a shower but wanted to give you all a little sweaty love first. Ain’t ya happy now?

Read this great little adapted form letter.

Dear Bloggin’ Pals:

Here’s what I’ve done and I need your assistance. Your help. Okay… your money. No no no, keep reading.

I recently made a commitment to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Shimmy-a-thon to help raise money to find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis (CF)—a life-threatening genetic disease. I made this commitment because… well, I’m having so damn much fun dancing that I think it’s dreadful that not everyone is capable. Just imagine if your ability to fish, hunt, run, walk, sew, swim, crochet, fuck your brains out in weird positions, or whatever it is you like to do were slowly taken from you bit by bit.

On September 23, 2006. I will be participating in Shimmy-a-thon and raising money and awareness for the CF Foundation. As a participant, I have committed to raise $200.

Here’s where my special request comes in…I am asking you to help me meet this goal by making a generous contribution that will support the research and care programs of the CF Foundation and help find a cure. There are over 30,000 others that need our help. It’s important for you to know that the CF Foundation is a very efficient organization and that more than 90 cents of every dollar of revenue raised is used to support CF research, care and education. Yo, what other organization do you know that gives that much actually money where it’s needed and not to some suit sitting in an office somewhere?

Please consider making a donation of $200, $100, $50… ok, $20, $10, $5. If you would prefer to make a credit card donation, this can be done via the web site: www.shimmyathon.com. Just visit the site and click on the donation link. From there, you can find my name on the list and will be taken to my personal donations page, I’m Donaleah. (It’s up! I’ll be posting a pic there soon. I’ve changed the link to take you straight to my donation page.)

I would like to raise the money by 9/15, however, I will gladly accept any and all donations after that date, as well. Any amount that you can donate will be greatly appreciated and all contributions are 100 percent tax deductible. You’ll get a letter from CFF thanking you for your donation so that you’ll have when you file those taxes next year.

I sincerely appreciate your support and generosity and I will keep you posted on my progress.

Simmy on people!

Now wasn’t that a sweet little letter the CFF provided for me to wreck? If you folks can come up with $50 or more I’ll come up with something special to send you. Anyone with ideas let me know.
